Legal Principle - Representation Must be made before Appropriate Authority before Seeking Writ of Mandamus against said Authorities:
It was pointed out that the petition of K. N. Kapur and others did not even disclose a demand made to the opposite parties to do justice, followed by its refusal by the opposite parties, so that a condition precedent to the issue of a writ of Mandamus was also wanting here.
A demand for justice and its refusal must precede the filing of a petition asking for direction or Writ of Mandamus, would also operate against the petitioners. (Supreme Court of India - 1975)
